Microsoft’s Ignite tech showcase hits Orlando next week and there is a strong possibility it could debut then, or we will at least get time frame in which a launch is expected. If you haven’t already downloaded the Edge Insider beta of the Chromium-based Edge, you won’t need to wait long to give the final release a run. Chromium also plays better with a wider range of platforms from anything to a Mac to ARM-based smartphones and tablets. With Google Chrome particularly popular, if a site glitched using the soon to be deprecated version of Edge built on Microsoft’s technology, a user would switch to a more compatible browser. The biggest reason for the switch to Chromium for the new Edge is compatibility.
